Minimum Qualifications

The Purpose

The Clinical Coordinator for Nursing and Allied Health will serve as a leader with administrative oversight for the clinical component of Nursing and Allied Health programs, in both Curriculum and Continuing Education. The Coordinator is responsible for clinical rotation scheduling including precepted experiences as well as ensuring compliance with instructor and student onboarding requirements. The clinical coordinator will maintain affiliation agreements with clinical partner agencies.  Administrative oversight includes the coordination and development of long and short range plans for clinical sites.

What You'll be Doing

  • Coordinates the clinical schedule for each semester for courses and programs in the assigned area in consultation with the faculty and Directors of Nursing and Allied Health. 
  •  
  • Provides orientation for all Nursing and Allied Health Program students to the clinical onboarding process and documentation. 
  • Ensures compliance with instructor and student onboarding requirements.
  • Develops community partnerships and strengthens current relationships with clinical partner agencies. 
  • Ensures updating of clinical agreements and COI’s for clinical sites as applicable to the program area.
  • Provides meaningful input on clinical matters and supports decisions of the instructional and college administration.
  • Maintains and seeks adherence to all policies with regards to clinical requirements within the programs.
  • Assists as needed with the accreditation process for all Nursing and Allied Health Programs.
  • Participates in the advisory board for all relevant programs.
  • Assists with advising students as needed
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection process for students and instructors in the assigned area.
  • Ensures compliance with policies of the College, NC Community College System, and applicable State and Federal agencies in the program area.
  • Has shared responsibilities to maintain the labs on the HSC and TCC campuses.
  • Ensures adherence to program and college policies by instructors and students. 

Additionally

 As assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences, Director of Nursing, and/or Director of Allied Health.  

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or equivalent, Associate degree or higher preferred.

Experience

Experience with management, planning, and coordination strongly preferred.

Skills and the Know-How

  • Must possess strong personal and professional integrity, and have a commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of management and administrative principles and practices.  
  • Knowledge of laws, statutes, rules, and regulations affecting assigned curriculum programs. 
  • Knowledge of community college organizational structure including the integration of academic, continuing education, and student services programs.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English. 
  • Ability to operate a PC and related software.  
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with community organizations, businesses, college staff, and the general public. Ability to provide leadership in an environment characterized by significant and constant change

Physical Demands

The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
