Minimum Qualifications

  • AAS degree in healthcare field such as Emergency Medical Science, Medical Assisting, Nursing, or other related fields.
  • Commitment to obtain Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) certification within two years of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in Healthcare discipline.
  • Experience with providing technical support in networking, computer hardware or software.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) Certification.

What you’ll do on a typical day

The Health Sciences Experiential Learning Coordinator position engages and supports apprenticeship students and coordinates medical simulation experiences for students enrolled in a health science program. The Coordinator understands and articulates campus programs, policies, and procedures and helps apprentices develop strategies to address academic persistence and completion. Additionally, the Coordinator manages the day-to-day operation of the medical simulation labs and experiences. The Coordinator position is a twelve-month position reporting to the Dean, Health Sciences. This position is approved for 1 day a week of remote work.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assists apprentices with creating comprehensive customized plans to ensure their success; monitors academic performance, and guides students to successful completion of their graduation requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between the employer partner and Davidson-Davie Community College to facilitate communication and collaboration to support student apprentice success.
  • Communicates and collaborates regularly with faculty and staff to support apprenticeship students.
  • Coordinate and supervise the general operation of simulation laboratory spaces to provide a wide variety of patient simulation experiences.
  • Oversee the regular preventive maintenance/repair of simulation equipment.
  • Coordinate training and provide technical support for users of the simulation equipment, including faculty.
  • Operate simulation equipment and related equipment as needed.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College
  • Performs other duties as assigned which support the purpose and initiatives of the College
