Associate’s degree is required
three or more years of experience working in a post-secondary institution of higher learning, or an equivalent combination of training and experience required

experience with financial aid software and Datatel preferred
Ability to interpret regulations

Position Description

Job Summary Benefits Custom Form Fields
To administer HEERF aid and scholarships to students by reviewing, interpreting, and processing electronic Institutional Student Information Records (ISIR) in compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Review and evaluate the results of the Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students, as requested
Maintain a working knowledge of all aspects of the electronic draw down process
Administer HEERF aid and scholarships in compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations and policies
Operate automated aid systems to package and award financial aid

Related Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing individual counseling to students and potential students in compliance with federal regulations
Responsible for assisting with the HEERF Federal program
Maintain an assigned group of student records
Assist with updating and developing parts of the Financial Aid Policy and Procedures Manual
Counsel students by phone, email and/or in person on their eligibility
Gather information to monitor and balance federal program and to prepare statistical reports
Handle professional judgment requests in compliance with federal regulations
Other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Director or Vice President of Student Services

Surroundings/Environment:
Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements, with moderate noise.

Physical Effort:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to maintain a stationary position for an extended period; move about the office, operate and position computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds. Work may include operation of a motor vehicle.

Scheduling:
This is a part-time position. Normal working hours will be between 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday; however must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings.

Travel:
Local travel is required, including between campus locations. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special trainings/conferences.
