Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required or an Associates degree and one year of experience in housekeeping or related work are preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively, follow oral and written instructions, and work independently or in a team environment.  Experience serving in a supervisory or team lead position is preferred.  Must have considerable knowledge of basic housekeeping cleaning procedures, cleaning products and janitorial equipment. Candidates must have basic working knowledge of computers and associated software.  A valid North Carolina Driver’s License and a driving record which allows applicant to be insurable under WCC’s auto insurance policy is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual and National Career Readiness Certificate are preferred.

Position Description

The primary responsibility is to supervise the housekeeping staff (dayshift) covering 12 buildings and 25 floors.  This is a working supervisory position and the individual will be expected to actively participate in the housekeeping rotation and duties.  Tasks include assigning buildings and floors, monitoring performance of staff, training staff, taking corrective action as needed, maintaining supplies in adequate stock levels, and other general housekeeping tasks.  This position reports directly to the Facilities and Grounds Superintendent. Applicants must be able to walk over extended distances carrying equipment weighing in excess of 20 lbs. and be able to safely lift heavy objects such as full trash bags
