Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Personnel Management, Business Administration, or other related field
Five (5) years' experience in human resources with at least three (3) years in recruitment AND two (2) years in employee relations
Experience working with an applicant tracking system
Broad knowledge of state and federal employment laws
Preferred Qualifications
Current PHR or SPHR certification

The Human Resources Consultant contributes to the organization's performance by providing consulting in support of the college's business objectives. This position supports more than one client base in the following functional areas: talent acquisition; employee relations consultation; policy interpretation and application, performance and talent management consultation.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Performs talent acquisition for assigned client base. Screens candidate applications for r skills, experience and knowledge to fit position requirements. Makes referrals to hiring manager and ensures efficient turn-around.
*Facilitates the process of candidate selection; job offer; background check; reference check; and candidate on-boarding details; determines salaries for new hires and ensures internal equity is maintained
*Provides day-to-day guidance to leadership on a variety of HR functions to include, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation.
*Provides guidance to hiring manager on legally compliant hiring and interview practices
*Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders including, coaching, career development, and the disciplinary action process
* Counsels employees and supervisors on conflict resolution; analyzes and resolves employee relations issues and assists with thorough and objective investigations when necessary
Ensures compliance with legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees; collaborates with outside legal counsel when necessary
Ensures compliance with employment laws to include but not limited to ADA, FLSA, EEO laws, Title VII, FMLA, etc.
Partners with Payroll; HR Systems; and Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for client base
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning
Assists with the development of training materials and provides training to client base
Develops strong partnerships with supervisors and hiring managers maintaining close contact and open communication; attends departmental meetings as able
Seeks innovative ways to source candidates through external job sites, professional organizations, and social media
Acts as an administrator to the college's Applicant Tracking System and Performance Management system as needed
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
