Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with one to three years of experience in Human Resources and general knowledge of EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The applicant must have strong organization and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint) is required. The candidate must be able to work independently and exercise good judgment in the application of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. A valid North Carolina driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required. 

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree and SHRM-CP certification is preferred. Experience with Ellucian Colleague is preferred. Experience working with a diverse population is preferred. A National Career Readiness Certificate and bilingual are preferred.

Position Description

The Human Resources Technician will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department. Duties include editing job vacancy announcements, screening employment applications, scheduling interviews and pre-employment screenings using an Applicant Tracking System; verify employment eligibility and wage verifications, maintain personnel files; assist new hires in completing employment documents; perform other assigned duties. Must handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and tact. Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative.
