- Associate Degree or Certification in HVAC from an accredited Institution or seven or more years of direct experience in the HVAC field.
- Must be willing to obtain the National Center for Construction Education and Research Certification (NCCER) within two months of employment.
- Experience in training others in a workforce or classroom/lab setting.
- Willing to teach day or evening classes.
- Basic computer skills or a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification and teaching experience is a plus.
- Third-party credentials
Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The instructor is responsible for delivering classroom/lab instruction for the HVAC program in the Workforce Continuing Education Division, Duties will include planning, implementation, and evaluation of program components, services, and related activities. The instructor will work closely with the Director of Workforce & Trades Education in matters related to and for the benefit of the specific program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides students with hand on training as well as textbook training as needed to succeed in the HVAC field.
- Instruct students in the techniques of HVAC.
- Ensure that all necessary documentation is kept current and delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure that accurate and current materials are being used in the classroom.
- Willing to prepare and update material/outlines as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree or Certification in HVAC from an accredited Institution or seven or more years of direct experience in the HVAC field.
