Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and significant industry experience.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following areas: Programming (Java, C++, Python, and/or Swift), Linux, Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Windows Server Operating Systems, Databases (SQL, Access), Computer Hardware/Troubleshooting, Cisco Networking Device Configuration, or Cyber Security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Current programming certification (Java, C++, Python, and/or Swift)
- Postsecondary teaching experience.
- Experience with Blackboard.
- Experience with curriculum development.
- Experience in industry

The Information Technology Instructor - Programming (9 month) position will be based at the Lee County Main Campus and may also include courses offered at the Chatham or Harnett County locations.
The purpose of an instructor at the Central Carolina Community College is to ensure maximum student learning. The instructor accomplishes this by presenting discipline specific learning outcomes through lecture, lab, demonstration, projects, assignments, appropriate classroom management, and by providing authentic student assessment that documents learning has occurred.
The Information Technology Instructor may teach day and/or evening classes.
Salary depends on education and experience.
Bachelor's Degree salary range: $43,242-$50,571
Master’s Degree salary range $45,397-$52,541
Doctorate Degree salary range $48,503-$55,482

Essential Duties
- Teach 18-28 contact hours per semester.
- Prepare, maintain, and distribute for all scheduled courses current course outlines and syllabi that support accreditation standards as described in the current faculty handbook.
- Prepare for and meet classes as assigned, promptly evaluate student progress within one week and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Maintain attendance for classes.
- Demonstrate concern for student retention by employing best practice strategies.
- Serve as academic advisor for an assigned caseload of information technology students.
- Recruit for department/curriculum as requested by lead and/or chair.
- Assist in maintaining department/curriculum equipment, supplies, and materials, and library and support resources.
- Assist in registration and orientation as requested by the lead and/or chair.
- Participate in scheduled departmental, faculty, staff meetings and other college activities.
- Keep supervisor informed of matters pertaining to the curriculum.
- Follow policies stated in the policies and procedures manual as it relates to instructor responsibilities.
- Obtain Blackboard Level II training as well as maintain a Bb course site for each curriculum course taught during the semester.
- Work the required 35 hours per week on campus and post and hold the required five (5) office hours per week.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Plan and participate in articulation activities with public schools and other community agencies.
- Complete the annual five-hour staff development requirement.
- Submit records and forms in a timely fashion as required in the policy and procedures manual.
- Encourage and support college activities, policies, procedures, and philosophies.
- Actively participate in professional organizations.
- Assume other duties as requested by the supervisor and the college.
