Blue Ridge Community College is currently seeking applications for a part time Instructional Coordinator. The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the instructional operations of English Language Acquisition, Adult Basic and Adult Secondary Education programs.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Three years teaching and three years in a supervisory role. Experience teaching English Language Learners preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Ability to speak and understand Spanish required. A successful candidate will have the ability to multitask and be able to independently manage a significant volume of work. The candidate will possess strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills and be flexible and adaptable to change. Knowledge of Adult Education and Literacy programs, adult learning theory and best practices in instruction and supervision is required. Ability to evaluate and develop curricula and programs is required. Must be flexible and adaptable to change. Must be proficient with technology and supervise instructor technological needs. Spanish speakers with strong English language skills are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands: The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to, lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines. Must have a commitment to safety.
