Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Computer Science, Educational Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of demonstrated success teaching/training technology-related content.
  • Minimum two years of experience in teaching with and/or administering the Blackboard learning management system (LMS) or similar platform.

Position Description

The Instructional Designer/Trainer will develop and maintain support resources/materials related to effective instructional strategies and the use of educational technologies for effective e-learning. This may include coordinating, developing and/or conducting faculty development sessions on course design, content delivery, accessibility (ADA/Section 504) of digital content; execution of required instructional processes; and the use of learning management system features and functionality.
 

Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to, supporting faculty and college instructional support technology initiatives/needs; preparing and/or conducting related training sessions; evaluating course design; guiding faculty in the development of e-learning content that meets quality standards; maintaining appropriate records/files; researching and planning; and participating on committees, as assigned/approved by the employee’s manager.

The Instructional Designer/Trainer must possess good organizational and research skills, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong computer skills with online instruction applications software, have a customer service focus and a strong work ethic.

This is a 12 month, full-time position that reports to the Director of Distance Education.
