The Instructional Support Specialist is a full-time 12-month position responsible for supporting daily operations of academic programs. Primary duties include providing faculty and staff support for Health Sciences and Arts, Sciences, Business and Technology in schedule entry, budget tracking, data acquisition and other tasks that promote student success.This position reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Academic Programs and Services.

The Instructional Support Specialist has the following responsibilities:

  • Utilize software to collect, compile, and store relevant data (i.e., enrollment information, historical grades, budget tracking).
  • Develop protocols to ensure data accuracy.
  • Entry and modification of schedules in collaboration with academic leadership
  • Facilitating purchasing processes and tracking budget expenditures
  • Assist leadership with acquisition of basic data through report generation
  • Coordinates arrangements for meetings and travel for academic areas
  • Provides excellent communication with colleagues across campus in support of student success
  • Collects and manages records while maintaining confidentiality of information and privacy for employees and students at all levels within the College
  • Assists faculty and leadership with management of instructional processes and record keeping
  • Provides support for events and meetings within academics
  • Works with leadership to coordinate adjunct contract processes, monthly payroll for adjunct instructors and part-time staff, and leave reports
  • Assists academic programs with program review process and collection and management of associated data
  • Provides phone coverage and greets students/visitors utilizing effective interpersonal skills; refers callers and visitors to other offices, as needed, through a thorough understanding of college resources
  • Demonstrates initiative, problem solving abilities, strong work ethic, punctuality, and a collaborative, positive attitude in performing duties
  • Provides support to faculty and staff that promotes equitable student learning outcomes
  • Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in performance of duties
