Blue Ridge Community College is currently seeking applications for an Instructor – Electronics Engineering Technology, 9-month. The primary purpose of this position is to provide quality instruction for all enrolled students in compliance with Blue Ridge Community College's "Open Door" policy. The ultimate goal is to meet the occupational and general educational needs of the students. Areas of instruction include electronics engineering, basic electricity, solid-state fundamentals, digital concepts, and microprocessors or programmable logic controllers, process control, systems development, and related topics. Classes may include curriculum, continuing education, workforce training, or other courses, and may be scheduled during the day, evening, weekend, face-to-face, online, or combination. 

Education:
Required- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related engineering field

Preferred- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field. Master’s degree must show a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in an engineering-related area.

Experience: Documented practical (hands-on) industry experience in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, building, installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and or modifying developmental and production electronic components, equipment, and systems, or closely related engineering areas required. Previous college teaching or training experience a plus. The ability to use Learning Management Software (LMS) would be beneficial.

Knowledge and Skills:
The selected faculty member will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365 or similar products, database systems, Learning Management Systems (LMS), College email, Google calendar, Google drive and documents, College website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

The selected faculty member must be able to effectively and successfully communicate his or her “industry perspective” of industrial/computer controls, manufacturing systems, communication systems, and power electronic systems.

Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
