Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, Microsoft Office, computers, and web-based resources such as BlackBoard.
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include day, evening and Saturdays as needed
Requirements:
Associate's degree

Credentialed as a North Carolina Paramedic or as a National Registry Paramedic with eligibility for reciprocity to obtain a North Carolina Paramedic credential
Credentialed as a Level I Paramedic Instructor or equivalent
Two years of experience teaching in a post-secondary educational environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Level II Paramedic Instructor or equivalent
Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses and laboratories. This position is located primarily at the North Wake College and Career Academy.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
* Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
*Maintains necessary North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services records
Maintains appropriate certifications, credentials and licenses
Maintains contact with business and industry and assists with placement of graduates
Participates in student recruiting, orientation, registration, and advising, as assigned
Secures college assets such as equipment, supplies and facilities
Maintains a program of safety
Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Attends professional development opportunities when possible
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
Participates in graduation exercises
Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
