Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree in computer science or a related field

2 years' experience in computer programming concepts to include standard mark-up language Internet services, creating web pages, using search engines, file transfer programs; and database design and creation with DBMS products, to include SQL and
Oracle, 

Programming experience that also includes web coding and database access/synchronization.

 Or  an equivalent combination of education, experience, and certifications

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher

Industry experience and/or coursework in multiple programming and coding languages

Teaching experience with a learning management system, preferably Blackboard

Management experience
 

Position Description

This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses.
 

 

 Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

*Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner

*Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance

*Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour

*Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment

*Grades and returns student work in a timely manner

*Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course

Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course

Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction

Maintains regular office hours

Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom

Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching

Serves on college or department committees as needed

Attends professional development opportunities when possible

Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and
constructing a syllabus

Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate

Participates in graduation exercises

Completes annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
