Bachelors degree
Graduate of an American Dental Association (ADA), Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited Dental Hygiene Program

Currently licensed as a Dental Hygienist
Current CPR Certification
Preferred Qualifications
Masters' degree in Dental Hygiene or related
Two years clinical and/or didactic teaching experience
Two years' clinical practice experience
Background in educational methodology
Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses; including didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
* Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Provides input for program assessment, planning implementation and evaluation
Promotes continued dental hygiene education program growth
Supports American Dental Association CODA standards in operating the program as well as the objectives and mission of the institution
Attends professional development opportunities
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
Participate in graduation exercises
Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
