Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA); or a Master’s degree in a related field that includes 18 graduate hours in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution

Experience Required:

  • 3 years of demonstrated entrepreneurial experience and leadership
  • 3 year of post-secondary teaching or professional training experience in Entrepreneurship topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, or other continuing education seminars

Preferred Qualifications

Education Preferred:

  • 18 graduate hours in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, or Marketing

Experience Preferred:

  • More than 3 years of demonstrated entrepreneurial experience and leadership
  • More than 3 years of post-secondary teaching or professional training experience in Entrepreneurship topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, or other continuing education seminars
  • The ability to teach across multiple subject areas within the Business program.
  • Higher Ed teaching experience.
  • Experience with distance learning delivery systems

Position Description

Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) is currently the fourth largest of N.C. Community College System’s 58 institutions. Teaching faculty at GTCC are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. The successful candidate will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
 

The Division of Business, Creative and Performing Arts at GTCC is seeking a visionary and collaborative business professional/educator to join our team and grow our Entrepreneurship program. Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach courses in support of career and transfer Business programs, focusing on the area of Entrepreneurship and related topics. In addition, this individual will support the department by teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: Business Communications, Business Ethics, Business Finance, Business Law, Business Math, Human Resources, Leadership, Management, Organizational Behavior, or Social Media Marketing. He/she should be proficient in Microsoft software, including Excel, and should be prepared to integrate technology skills into the classroom, be able to teach at times and locations that meet the needs of our students, and be committed to working constructively with all facets of a growing Business Administration program within a Community College setting.
