  1. The instructor must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in either clinical research, nursing, allied health sciences, life sciences, social sciences, or another related field
  2.  Must have had at least five (5) years of recent experience as a clinical research professional in a pharmaceutical company, a medical device company, biotechnology company, contract research organization, or research center
  3.  Should have at least one (1) year of experience in the training of clinical research professional
  4. Must be familiar with:
    • virtual clinical trials
    • real-time and remote risk-based monitoring
    • eTMS, CTMS, and EDC technology
  1. Must have had at least five (5) years of experience as a clinical research associate, clinical data manager, or another clinical research professional in a pharmaceutical company, medical device company, biotechnology company, contract research organization, or research center
  2.  Should have at least one (1) year of experience in the training of clinical research professionals

Preferred Qualifications

Highly preferred to have current certification by a clinical research professional organization (such as the Society of Clinical Research Associates, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, Society of Clinical Data Management, Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, or other clinical research professional organization) or must demonstrate competency through a combination of years of industry experience and a record of participation, publications and or presentations to relevant professional organizations/societies/associations within five years of appointment to the position.

Essential Functions

The Clinical Trials Research Associate Instructor is primarily responsible for the planning, delivering, and evaluating classroom instruction and providing related services and support activities required for optimal student learning and effective educational programming.

As a member of the Clinical Trials Research Associate faculty, the instructor is also accountable for assisting and supporting the program director, field coordinator, and/or department dean, as needed, in meeting the program's instructional and curricular requirements and division.

More specifically, and consistent with the employee's current contract of appointment:

 

Job Duties

• Teach all courses (which may include synchronous online, asynchronous online, and/or hybrid classes) as assigned, for the entire duration of scheduled instruction;

• Be fully prepared with the course syllabus and instructional plans for each class session following the stated objectives of the course;

• Enforce academic policies and procedures of the College and the department at all times, and complying with all other institutional rules and regulations pertinent to classroom instruction and general employment;

• Be available during posted out-of-class hours to students requiring additional assistance;

• Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of competency-based education and utilize available educational resources for the evaluation, improvement of instruction, and the development of teaching materials;

• Take advantage of in-service training and other opportunities for continued professional development, including attendance at off¬-campus activities, as feasible, and generally staying abreast of developments in the field of instruction;

• Serve as an educational advisor and complete advising-associated administrative activities.

• Become proficient in advising technologies, including Colleague, WebAdvisor, and Student Self Service.

• Assist in the recruitment of students by participation in recruitment activities on and off-campus;

• Participate in program, departmental, divisional, and instructional meetings and other announced activities;

• Maintain posted office, advising, and on-campus hours sufficient to fulfill all contracted duties and individual professional obligations, as well as to meet the needs of the program, department, division, and the College;

• Fulfill committee assignments and other special appointments at the College, as well as the community-at-large, and otherwise give appropriate support to institutional endeavors;

• Assume other necessary responsibilities and perform additional tasks as assigned by the program director and/or department dean in meeting the needs of the program, department, division, and the College.

• Being on campus for any required in-person meetings and required departmental activities as set by supervisors

• Having four (4) in-person office hours on campus and four (4) virtual hours per week for student meetings and advising

• Occasional evening and weekend hours as determined by the supervisor.
