Expected Work Hours

Nine month Contract/Fall and Spring Semesters. At least thirty hours per week on campus, including 5-office hours, with a minimum of 18 semester credit hours of assigned classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:           

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in culinary field.
  • ANSI food safety certification required (ServSafe).

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:           

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in culinary field.
  • ANSI food safety certification required (ServSafe).
  • Minimum of three years restaurant experience preferred.
  • Teaching experience preferred.

Position Description

Major Duties:            

  • Instruct curriculum classes in Culinary Arts on the Main Campus as directed.
  • Plan, organize, and develop each course taught in accordance with acceptable academic standards and teach assigned courses in accordance with the approved curriculum and course outlines.
  • Maintain up-to-date course outlines and objectives for each course to be taught and assist with the development of new courses and revisions of existing courses.
  • Participate in a continuous program of curriculum evaluation.
  • Serve as a faculty advisor to students as assigned and be available for advising students on all designated registration days.
  • Serve as food manager or supervise food management and storage for the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Instruction.
