Instructor, Cyber Security provides accessible, quality learning experiences within the classroom, laboratory, clinical, and/or distance learning settings; facilitates the learning process to help students be successful; provides accurate, quality academic and career advisement for students; seeks professional development opportunities to implement best practices in teaching within their discipline area; maintains office hours according to institutional policy; completes required course assessments and documentation in an accurate and timely manner; attends college meetings, student activities, institutional functions; and contributes to the development of curriculum courses and programs.

Required Training and Experience: Associate degree in Systems Security, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or a related field from a regionally accredited university. One or more currently industry-recognized certifications within the fields of cyber security such as Security+ CE, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNP Security, CEH, CASP, CISSP, CySA, or SCP. At least one year of industry experience in network or cyber security, emphasis in Linux and other open-source programs and technologies. At least one year of industry experience with security-related software tools, such as ForeScout, Nessus, Palo Alto, Splunk, tcpdump, or Wireshark.

Preferred Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Security, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Information Assurance, or a related field from a regionally accredited university. Current certifications within the fields of Information Technology. (Network+, Linux+, CCNA, RHCSA, Security+ CE, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNP Security, CEH, CASP, CISSP, CySA, SCP, etc.) Experience teaching at the community college and/or training in the field of Cyber Security. Experience and/or fundamental knowledge of programming in Python, Java, and/or C.
