Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Emergency Science or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Completion of a paramedic program
  • Level I NC EMS Instructorship
  • Instructorship for at least 2 of the following: ACLS, PALS, BLS, ACLS-EP, PHTL, ITLS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Science or related field
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic
  • Level II NC EMS Instructorship
  • Instructorship for at least four (4) of the following: ACLS, PALS, BLS, ACLS-EP, PHTL, ITLS
  • Experience teaching online with Moodle

Position Description

Under supervision of the EMS Coordinator, the EMS Instructor provides classroom/lab instruction for credentialing courses such as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT, and Paramedic.

  • Collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program curriculum
  • Responsible for content and syllabi for courses assigned
  • Follow course description set in common course library
  • Ensure proper storage of materials and equipment at the end of each class/lab
  • Maintain and submit required paperwork as instructed
  • Ability to teach day, evening and weekend as needed
