Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree in Emergency Science or related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Completion of a paramedic program
- Level I NC EMS Instructorship
- Instructorship for at least 2 of the following: ACLS, PALS, BLS, ACLS-EP, PHTL, ITLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Science or related field
- Nationally Registered Paramedic
- Level II NC EMS Instructorship
- Instructorship for at least four (4) of the following: ACLS, PALS, BLS, ACLS-EP, PHTL, ITLS
- Experience teaching online with Moodle
Position Description
Under supervision of the EMS Coordinator, the EMS Instructor provides classroom/lab instruction for credentialing courses such as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced EMT, and Paramedic.
- Collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program curriculum
- Responsible for content and syllabi for courses assigned
- Follow course description set in common course library
- Ensure proper storage of materials and equipment at the end of each class/lab
- Maintain and submit required paperwork as instructed
- Ability to teach day, evening and weekend as needed
