Minimum Qualifications
Requires certification or completed coursework in A/C, heating, and refrigeration technology or related field from a regionally accredited institution; minimum of one year of residential and/or commercial A/C, heating, and refrigeration work experience; EPA Refrigerant Recovery certification required; and one-year teaching experience preferred. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain NC Department of Public Safety (prisons) clearance and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Preferred Qualifications
NC HVAC Contracting License preferred; and one-year teaching experience preferred.
Position Description
The purpose of this position is to provide professional and technical instruction on Heating, Ventilation, and A/C (HVAC) skills for incarcerated individuals for post-incarceration employment opportunities. Deliver instruction, maintain grade and attendance records, recognize and respond appropriately to student diversity, utilize clear learning goals and well-planned activities, keep weekly office hours; maintain strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
