Minimum Qualifications
An associate's degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in industrial technology or a closely related field; teaching experience in a higher education setting; and experience working in business and industry.
Position Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Mission of the College and the departmental mission and goals. Provide effective instruction utilizing a variety of instructional strategies and current, relevant technology. Teach assigned classes according to approved course syllabi and minimum competencies. Arrive on time for classes or notify their supervisor as soon as possible of an inability to meet a class. Schedule, post and keep office hours as required by college policy. Maintain class record books, keys, lesson assignments and other necessary materials or equipment. Assist with advising and registering students. Support the development of the schedule for all course work related to their assigned teaching area each semester. Advise students in their program area and maintain an uptodate advisee record for ALL active advisees. Submit all required student grade reports to the registrar’s office by the specified deadline. Maintain accurate attendance records for all classes. Keep the administration informed about matters affecting the welfare of students, faculty, and the institution. Attend local, state, and national meetings geared toward program’s growth and enhancement. Actively recruit students to the program. Participate in collegewide committees and functions. Recommend the purchase of library books and instructional materials. Provide, in cooperation with the lead faculty for program area, positive feedback on student success within the program to the administration and foster positive alumnae relationships between graduates and the college. Work with students in extracurricular activities including clubs and special events. Attend all faculty meetings, commencements, and other special meetings called by the Division Director, Associate Dean of Instruction, Vice President of Instruction and Student Services, and/or the College President. Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor, Division Director, Associate Dean of Instruction, Vice President of Instruction and Student Services, and/or the College President.
