Blue Ridge Community College is currently accepting applications for an Instructor – Manufacturing Technician. The purpose of this position is to provide quality instruction for all students enrolled in their assigned classes in compliance with Blue Ridge Community College's "Open Door" policy. The ultimate goal is to meet the occupational and general educational needs of the students. Classes may include curriculum, continuing education, workforce training, or other courses, and may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekend.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Required: Associate degree in Engineering, or a closely related field. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, a closely related field, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in one of the above areas.

Experience: Industry experience (preferably 5+ years) in engineering, electronics/process control, automation, or closely related areas. Previous college teaching experience would be very helpful.

Knowledge and Skills:
The faculty member will possess strong personal and professional integrity, good verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to safety. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, database systems, College email and website, and other computer applications associated with the position.

The faculty member must be able to effectively and successfully communicate their “industry perspective” of robotics, controls, systems development and how it integrates with machinery and mechanics.

Physical Demands:
The ability to perform all duties associated with the position including, but not limited to lifting, prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and operating or performing work with associated tools and machines.
