Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
2. MT or MLS ASCP certification required.
3. Three years of experience in a clinical medical laboratory required.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Three years of teaching experience preferred.

Position Description

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare students to become competent Medical Laboratory Technicians, qualified to work in a clinical laboratory.
 

Essential Responsibilities/Duties
The essential duties of this position are the teaching of clinical and transdisciplinary courses to include development and implementation of course documents, testing and course evaluation as assigned in the Medical Laboratory Technology program. In addition to course instruction, the employee assists the Medical Laboratory Technology Program Coordinator with the following tasks:
 

1. Advising students.

2. Recruitment.

3. Inventory and ordering of supplies and equipment.

4. Curriculum development.

5. Clinical practicum supervision.

6. Fulfilling the national requirements to maintain program accreditation.

7. Maintaining classroom lab instrumentation.

8. Procurement of clinical specimens for classroom labs.

9. Maintaining SDS information.

10. Serving on College committees as elected or appointed.

11. Participating in assessment of course and/or program outcomes.

12. Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor(s).
