Position Description
This role provides effective instruction and develops curriculum for assigned non-degree courses and assists with the coordination of all instructional activities within the Non-Credit Computer Education department for multiple on- and off-campus locations.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):

*Teach information technology courses to help students maintain or improve knowledge and skills and communicate course objectives to students, i.e., IT Support Technician or Network Technician courses.
*Present engaging lectures and course information and conduct discussions to increase students' knowledge and competence using visual aids, such as graphs, charts, videos, and slides with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures in on- or off-campus locations.
*Monitor and evaluate student course activities such as lab, projects, individual or group assignments to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement.
*Implement alternative teaching methods and provide remedial instructional activities to improve student learning and achieve course outcomes.
*Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure learner progress and to evaluate training effectiveness.
*Grade and return student coursework in a timely manner.
*Prepare reports, maintain accurate and complete records, and submit documentation timely as required by institutional and department policies.
*Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to assist the Non-Credit Computer Education department with learner recruitment, increasing student enrollment, maintaining learner retention, and providing academic consultation, guidance, and barrier removal recommendations to prospective and current students.
*Obtain and maintain ongoing credentials and certifications, as required.
*Plan, develop, organize, evaluate, and revise curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching aids, establish course goals, and identify methods of instruction for on- and off-campus courses.
*Review, select, acquire, organize, revise, and maintain course content and class resources, such as books, virtual lab platforms, seated labs, and learning management systems (LMS) for on- and off-campus courses.
*Assess and validate Non-Credit Computer Education department instructional training needs through oral or written surveys, interviews or consultations with employees, instructors, and student
Keep up with information technology developments, such as by attending professional development events or reading current journals, books, or magazine articles to obtain and integrate relevant information to enhance course quality, course instruction, and student learning.
Assist with scheduling classes, selecting, and assigning instructors to teach, and writing course contracts based on availability of classrooms, equipment, or instructors.
Assist the Non-Credit Computer Education department with instructor hiring, onboarding, mentoring, course evaluations, class visitations, and providing instructor training to facilitate course instruction.
Assists with representing and promoting Non-Credit Computer Education department programs at various events and developing and distributing information.
Provides backup support to Coordinators and backup instructor support, as needed to teach classes due to unexpected adjunct faculty absences.
Serve on committees, as needed.
Completes an annual benchmark project on an individual or group basis.
