Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Current NC RN License
  • At least two (2) years of RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Geriatric or Long-Term Care
  • Experience teaching online with Moodle

Position Description

Under supervision of the Healthcare Program Coordinator, the Nursing Assistant I (NAI) Instructor provides classroom, lab, and clinical instruction to Nurse Aide I students within the structured training guidelines mandated by the North Carolina Division of Health Services Regulations (DHSR) Nurse Aide Registry.

  • Coordinate and supervise students in the clinical setting to ensure safe, correct and competent resident care and handling within the clinical agency guidelines
  • Assist the Coordinator with gathering, maintaining, and updating student record information as required by state and federal regulatory bodies
  • Assist the Coordinator with ensuring all students remain in compliance and produce documentation required by the clinical agency’s training agreement (identification, immunization, emergency training)
  • Record student attendance at every class meeting and track hours missed, submit to Coordinator monthly; assign make-up work and track hours on Student Absence Form
  • Maintain test security, record grades according to syllabus guidelines, enforce attendance rules
  • Administer a mock state exam to students upon course completion
