Required:
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification or a bachelor’s degree or higher with a concentration or degree in Pharmacy from a regionally accredited institution
- Minimum of three years' experience working in an institutional or retail pharmacy setting
- Experience supervising Pharmacy Technicians or experience teaching adult learners
- Able to communicate English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English

Position Description
Position Summary
Part-time position teaching Pharmacy Technician courses to students. Will provide assigned course instruction to students through various teaching methods. Teaching methods to include, but are not limited to lectures, labs, demonstrations, exercises, and handouts. Instructional assignments may include work at the Martin Community College (MCC) Main Campus and/or other MCC locations. Position reports to the Coordinator for Healthcare Programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction to Pharmacy Technician students within structured guidelines to prepare students for work in institutional and retail pharmacies
- Provide students with instruction sufficient to prepare them to successfully pass a nationally recognized pharmacy technician certification exam
- Assist the Program Coordinator with gathering, maintaining, and updating student records
- Maintain a good professional rapport with the Program Coordinator, students, and Martin Community College employee
- Supervise students in a classroom/lab setting to ensure safe, correct, and competent demonstration of applied knowledge and skills
- Record student attendance on the Attendance Sheet at every class meeting and note the number of hours missed if a student has partial attendance on an instructional day. Turn class attendance sheets into the Program Coordinator monthly and as requested
- Enforce attendance rules regarding allowable absence hours limitations
- Always maintain test security for all unit test and exam packets and answer sheets
- Average and record student grades according to the class syllabus guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality of student's personal, academic, and medical information according to HIPPA and FERPA regulations and MCC policies and procedures
- Attend applicable Healthcare Recognition Ceremonies to support student achievements
- Notify the Program Coordinator of damaged or broken instructional/lab equipment and/or low supply inventories
- Leave classrooms, labs, and equipment, clean, organized, and safe after every class
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Correspond with students and supervisors through e-mail in a timely manner. Be accessible to supervisors by phone and email
- Adhere to all departmental, divisional, and MCC policies and procedures
- Respond appropriately to requests and inquiries from students and the general public
- Respond to student issues professionally and report unresolved issues or classroom incidents to the Healthcare Programs Coordinator
- Maintain physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Maintain physical condition necessary for lifting and carrying light materials and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
