Excellent oral, written, and listening skills
Self-directed, organized, task-oriented, detail oriented and flexible
Ability to relate, collaborate and communicate well with individuals from all socio-economic levels and ethnic groups with respect and sensitivity
Ability to develop original lesson plans and curriculum for College & Career Readiness students
Demonstrate a variety of instructional techniques and methods
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to maintain appropriate certifications to be able to administer test
Knowledge and ability to utilize technology into the classroom including the use of blogs, spreadsheets, computer based or online teaching, PowerPoint, and internet based activities
Available to work a flexible schedule, as needed, including day and night hours
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
One year of classroom teaching experience teaching in adult education
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching adult basic education
Experience with managing student data, reports, auditing attendance and entering time in data system
Experience coordinating, tracking and analyzing required documentation for student registration and files
Experience developing original lesson plans that incorporate contextualized instruction or real-life/authentic materials into the curriculum
Experience utilizing technology or experience incorporating technology into the classroom
Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction in assigned area and the coordination of Adult Basic Education instruction in the College and Career Readiness (CCR) Programs.

*Plans, organizes and provides instruction using level specific materials and methodologies to maximize student learning
*Establishes and executes meaningful learning objectives
*Creates a system to track, analyze and maintain all required documentation (attendance, testing results, outcomes, releases, etc) in student files and meets all submission deadlines and requirements as specified by supervisor, WTCC, National Reporting System and state and federal funding
*Administers tests, documents and analyzes results in a timely manner
*Resolves faculty and student concerns and supports instructors in the absence of the Instructional Program Specialist
Adjusts instructional strategies, when needed, to meet diverse student needs
Implements technology tools to enhance instruction
Contacts students through email, phone calls and direct mail to ensure retention in program
Presents career and educational pathway information to qualifying students
Works with Instructional Program Specialist and College & Career Readiness Counselor in identifying students within the target population including the development of communication processes for sharing student progress and changes in students' goals
Contributes to the selection and development of instructional materials aligned with course objectives
Observes, coaches and mentors instructors who are new or in need of remediation
Develops, coordinates, participates, and provides professional development, faculty and staff training
Meets paperwork deadlines
Provides input on programmatic changes and serves on College committees, as appropriate
Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
