Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in Engineering or related field
Two years post-secondary teaching experience in Engineering or related field
Two years supervisory or leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferences:
Five years supervisory experience in a post-secondary academic setting
Five years teaching experience in a related field, preferably in a community college setting
Five years supervisory experience in a related field Leadership training
Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses and assisting the division Dean and Department Head as the first-line manager.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

* Manages personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities of department
* Responsible for keeping the Department Head informed of the operation of the department
*Coordinates, plans, develops, implements, supervises, and evaluates department curriculum and courses
* Assigns all instructors classes, evaluates faculty credentials, and approves courses for full-time and adjunct faculty
* Evaluates instructors/employees in the department
* Develops, maintains, and supervises long-range Institutional Effectiveness assessment plans that may include planning, developing, and reporting the program mission, goals, and program/student learning outcomes
Meets all the responsibilities and duties within the description of instructor for this program
Acts as advisor to curriculum students assigned Participates in the resolution of faculty and student issues
Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
Uses assessment techniques to improve student learning outcomes and teaching methods
Serves on college, divisional, or department committees as needed
Attends professional development opportunities
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
Participates in graduation exercises
Plans and conducts regular department meetings
Selects Advisory Committee members, plan and conduct Advisory Committee meetings and distribute meeting minutes
Complete an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
