Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology and three (3) years of progressive work experience in a drug manufacturing environment and three years of instructional experience at a community college, university, or educational institution;

OR

Bachelors Degree with industry certifications and five (5) years of progressive work experience in a drug manufacturing environment and three years of instructional experience at a community college, university, or educational institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferences:

Master’s degree in Biomanufacturing, Industrial Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Quality or related discipline.

Three years experience operating and trouble-shooting complex equipment in a
biomanufacturing or pharmaceutical environment

Experience operating DeltaV or similar software systems

Five years of instructional experience at a community college, university, or educational institution

Position Description

Position Description

This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses and assisting the Department Head as the first-line manager of personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities of the department.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

 *Meets all the responsibilities and duties within the description of instructor for this department
 
 *Manager of personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities of department.
 
 *Coordinate all of the instructional and academic activities within the assigned department and subject area.
 
 *Responsible for keeping the Department Head informed of the operation of the department
 
 *Plan, develop, implement, supervise, and evaluate department curriculum and courses
 
 *Assign all instructor classes
 
 *Evaluate credentials and approve courses for full-time and part-time faculty
 
 *Evaluate instructors/employees in the department
 
 *Resolve faculty/student problems.
 
 *Act as advisor to curriculum students assigned.
 
 *Plan and conduct regular department meetings.            
 
 *Select Advisory Committee members, plan and conduct Advisory Committee meetings and distribute meeting minutes
 
 *Must comply with the Applied Engineering & Technologies Division policies and the Biopharmaceutical Program’s technical standards

Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course

Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction

Maintains regular office hours

Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom

Uses assessment techniques to improve student learning outcomes and teaching methods

Serves on college or department committees as needed

Attends professional development opportunities when possible

Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus

Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate

Participates in graduation exercises

Good organizational skills

Knowledge of and facility with technology and software including, computers and web-based resources such as BlackBoard

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
