Five years of professional experience in the field of healthcare and simulation
Two years' experience as a lead instructor in one or more curriculum courses related to healthcare simulation
Current North Carolina license or certification in a healthcare related field
Preferred Qualifications
Two years experience in education administration
Current National simulation certification
Position Description
This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for the curriculum and assisting the division Dean and Department Head as the first-line manager of personnel, supplies, equipment, and facilities for the Health Simulation Technology program.

* Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
* Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
* Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
* Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
* Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
* Advises Healthcare Simulation Technology program students; evaluates course substitutions and transfer credits by experience
* Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the program; provides online advising and virtual office hours
* Review faculty and adjunct applications and make recommendations
* Lead and mentor instructors and adjuncts
* Make budget recommendations
* Plan and conduct monthly program meetings as needed
*Assists with ordering, distribution, storage and management of supplies and equipment for the lab; confers with instructors to determine supply and equipment needs
* Oversees and coordinates activities for executive-style Healthcare Simulation lab activities
*Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction to maintain currency and rigor and to fully implement and evaluate student learning outcomes and overall program outcomes
*Devises and directs maintenance of a record system of Healthcare Simulation Lab experience, exits and re-entries, grades, and general background information for each student
*Collaborates with student services staff and faculty to develop and implement admission standards for Healthcare Simulation Technology students
Conducts marketing and recruitment initiatives to engage students in the program
Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Maintains regular office hours
Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom and online environments
Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Serves on college or department committees as needed
Schedules and hosts advisory board meetings at least two times per year
Attends professional development opportunities when possible
Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
Participates in graduation exercises
Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis
