Position Description
This position is responsible for designing, developing, and providing effective instruction in assigned areas in support of Advanced Manufacturing, Apprenticeship, and Customized Training.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Conducts training classes and labs on site at Wake Technical Community College and at Industry and Employer Sites
*Researches and develops lesson plans for current and proposed classes and modifies as necessary to meet the needs of employers and or customized training projects, apprenticeship and advanced manufacturing classes
*Establishes and executes meaningful learning objectives
*Plans, organizes and provides instruction using specific materials and methodologies to maximize student learning while meeting the needs of the employers, customized training projects, apprenticeship and advanced manufacturing classes
*Modifies instructional strategies as needed to meet the diverse needs of students
*Generates new labs and simulations for proposed class offerings for apprenticeship, advanced manufacturing, and customized training for new and existing customers
*Designs, builds, maintains, and repairs equipment as needed
*Collaborates with leaders to determine availability for additional training
Maintains skills and certifications required for teaching by attending classes and training
Verifies that advanced manufacturing center and lab activities are set up prior to classes and all equipment and simulations are functional
Attends meetings with prospective customers to discuss training needs and assists in the identification of training
Researches equipment needs for classes and makes recommendations for purchases
Obtains price quotes for equipment, books, parts, and materials for scheduled classes and proposed training
Completes an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or group basis
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of or demonstrated ability to understand technology and automation concepts encompassed in the Apprenticeship and Customized Training Programs
Knowledge of proper classroom management
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of learning transfer
Strong written and oral communication skills
Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task with demonstrated commitment to follow-through expeditiously
Strong interpersonal and leadership skill
Ability to select training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the intended audience
