  • Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution

Preferred Qualifications

  • teaching experience at the community college level is preferred
  • prefer a broad background of academic coursework
  • prefer prior experience with online instruction

Position Description

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; implementing strategies for student retention; developing and evaluating courses, programs and services; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College.

 

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • be thoroughly prepared for each lecture, lab, clinical, or shop time
  • teaches assigned courses in classroom/lab settings to meet program needs including, but not limited to, day, evening, weekend, and distance courses
  • evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback
  • develops course syllabi and provides appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
  • explores, assesses, and implements appropriate instructional technology to enhance student learning outcomes
  • prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy

     

    Related Responsibilities:

  • assists in the evaluation of courses and programs
  • assists in student recruitment and retention
  • maintains communication and accessibility for students, faculty and staff
  • attends appropriate College and School meetings
  • participates in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
  • promotes College mission, values, and vision
  • other duties as assigned
