Position Description
DEFINITION:
Landscape crew is responsible for the overall maintenance and improvements of all CFCC outdoor areas including turf, plant beds, shrubbery and trees, parking decks, sidewalks etc.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives general supervision from the Coordinator, Landscaping
- Exercises no supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
- Performs skilled grounds maintenance to include new installations, edging, mowing, pruning, general manicuring
- of all College grounds, parking lot maintenance, trash pick-up and other duties as determined by supervisor or administration.
- Must follow all safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for monitoring all working areas for pedestrians and potential safety hazards.
- Must be able to operate a Truck with enclosed trailer when needed.
- Must be able to operate all tools associated with landscaping including zero turn mowers, edger, runners, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws and any other tool needed to finish jobs in a quality professional manner.
Other Important Functions:
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of local plants and turf types and their growth habits.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation.
- Knowledge of all landscape tools and equipment both large and small that could be required to perform professional quality landscape maintenance.
Ability To:
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Communicate concisely & respectfully, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
- Making observations
- Reading and writing
- Communicating with others
- Operating assigned equipment
- Handling varied tasks simultaneously
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:

- Operating assigned equipment

- Bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Maintain mental capacity, which allow the capability of:

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
