Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design/Graphic Arts/Visual Arts or related is required.

Graphic Design industry/freelance work is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Baccalaureate or Masters Degree in Graphic Design (preferred but not required)

Position Description

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College seeks a Lead Faculty in Graphic Design to teach Graphic Design courses and take primary responsibility for refining the curriculum of the AAS: Advertising and Graphic Design and associated Certificate programs. This position has a heavy administrative component and requires a high level of organization, self-motivation, and professionalism. Applicants should be well-versed in the NC Community College System and she be keen to help lead the department through the NASAD accreditation process. The lead is expected to be the departmental contact with the SkillsUSA organization for the college and is expected to help nurture and grow the Graphic Design program.

S/he is responsible for: developing the remaining GRD courses, improving existing GRD courses, working with GRD faculty to streamline SLOs/course content/rubrics/etc., assisting in hiring and training faculty, assisting with course schedule, identifying textbooks and other student resources, identifying equipment needs, maintaining inventory of consumable supplies, and other duties as assigned by the Director.

S/he will teach a maximum of 3/4 load and will report to the Director.
