Librarian

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Librarian assists students, faculty, staff and community users with finding and evaluating source materials as well as determining what type of materials they need. This position assists students in researching topics related to their coursework and teaches students how to access information. The Librarian also teaches users how to access and search electronic libraries and performs routine circulation and cataloging duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited university
• Two (2) years full-time professional experience in a library setting

SALARY/BENEFITS

• Hiring range: $43,500 – $48,500
• Benefits include paid holidays, annual and sick leave, medical insurance (free to employees), and participation in the N.C. State Retirement System.
