Bachelor in Library or Information Science, or commensurate experience; working knowledge of Microsoft productivity software; ability to use online electronic resources; and complementary technology expertise.
Master’s degree in Library or Information Science; work experience in libraries; work experience in NCCCS; and administrative and supervisory experience.
Support the purpose of the Learning Resources Center by providing the materials and services necessary to promote learning through the academic programs of the College. This position provides direct supervision for and daily management of the library on the Rocky Mount Campus.
Essential Job Duties
Develop and maintain a collection of the library resources in the library.
Conduct orientation and bibliographic instruction sessions for students and faculty.
Provide reference service for students and faculty.
Provide support for EDGE Academy students and faculty.
Select books, periodicals and electronic media for purchase through a process of consulting faculty, reading review sources and meeting with vendors.
Catalog print and non-print materials.
Oversee circulation procedures.
Promote use of the library and its resources.
Attend professional conferences.
Supervise all staff working in the Rocky Mount Campus Library.
Hire, train, and supervise work-study students.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
