Minimum Qualifications
An associate’s degree from an accredited institution in library and information technology and 1-year library experience or an associate degree in a related field and 2-years’ library experience required. Demonstrated competencies using technology, including but not limited to library computers equipment (laptops, cameras and projectors, etc.). Evening and weekend work is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Community college library experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the Library of Congress Classification System, preferred.
Position Description
The library assistant provides a wide range of technical library, multimedia, duties related to provision of service in a computer-based information library and open access computer laboratory setting; supports instruction as assigned; and values and promotes the mission and vision of the college. Provides quality customer service by assuring department operation standards are met. Responsible for providing basic reference and circulation services, assist with copy and fax services, performing clerical and organizing documenting materials of information.
