Required: Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution with major course work in office technology, computer technology, library science or a related field.
Experience
Required: Minimum of 2 years' hands-on customer service experience required. Minimum of 1 year of library experience required.

Position Description
Prepare and maintain circulation desk for daily operations.
Manage circulation duties including reserves, inter-library loans, cash flow, and other material management.
Catalogue and sort books, publications, and other items according to established procedure and return them to shelves, files, or other designated storage areas.
Check in and process new periodicals and discard outdated periodicals according to the Periodical Retention Policy.
Manage and process materials for inter-library loans.
Compile and maintain records and statistics relating to circulation, materials, and equipment.
Help patrons find and use all library materials and resources; refer patrons to librarians for further assistance, when necessary.
Address any patron behavioral issues in a firm, compassionate manner.
Open and close library during specified hours and secure library equipment, such as computers and audio-visual equipment.
Run overdue reports and communicate with patrons regarding overdue and/or lost materials, fines, fees, and blocks.
Send reminder and overdue notices by email and follow up as needed by telephone.
Place and lift library blocks and flags in Colleague.
Assist with maintaining the physical facility including monitoring library for safety issues and a conducive learning environment, including taking actions to halt disruption of library activities by problem patrons.
Train and supervise work-study students.
Assists librarians, as needed, with Library tours, classes, and displays.
Serve on college committees and attend college functions as assigned or appropriate.
