Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with others
- Ability to work flexible hours including early morning, evenings, or weekends to participate in regular in service trainings
- Must possess strong decision making skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patrons in a variety of situations
Preferred Qualifications
Skills in leadership, public relations and member recruitment are preferred.
Position Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
To provide excellent customer service and advocate for a safe and inclusive environment for all who enter into Brunswick Community College’s Dinah E. Gore Fitness & Aquatics Center. This
part-time position(s) will be responsible for providing lifeguarding services to patrons of the Aquatics Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide lifeguarding services to patrons of the Aquatics Center
- Provide a safe environment for aquatic patrons by enforcing and modeling facility rules
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance of aquatic center and locker rooms
- Assist in completion of records and reports including maintenance and incident reports
- Assist with additional duties as assigned
- Attend lifeguard in-service trainings
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED

OTHER RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate and respond to instructions using spoken and written English required. The ability to react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation is necessary. Skills in leadership, public relations and member recruitment are preferred.
