Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two years of experience in a higher education setting
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining a student-centered and effective working relationship with students, faculty, staff and the public; commitment to a team building approach
  • Ability to think “outside of the box” and embrace change
  • Ability to communicate effectively, skilled in presenting ideas and concepts orally and in writing
  • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, statistical reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher preferred

Position Description

General Function:  Under the supervision of the Director of Learning Resources and Academic Support Services, the Success Coach supports the College’s student success initiatives by providing success coaching and advising services to students and implementing strategies to improve student retention and completion.  This is an 18-month grant-funded part-time / 25 hour per week position. This position does not include benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support to student in need of schedule changes, program changes
  • Perform intake advising /onboarding for incoming curriculum students
  • Promote campus support services, student success and retention strategies, and tutoring usage through a variety of print and digital campaigns
  • Assist students in the admissions/enrollment process by providing application completion assistance, information regarding academic placement testing, basic financial aid assistance, registration assistance, on-line resources, Student Portal, and College E-mail instructions, tuition/fee payment instruction, and information on scholarship opportunities
  • Provide on-going information to students, potential students, parents, and general public regarding policies, programs, and procedures
  • Remain current in knowledge of deadlines and general college policies/protocols that relate to financial aid, tuition payment, testing, orientation, class registration, add/drop and withdrawal from classes
  • Participate in college-wide and services, events, and activities to promote the growth of the college
  • Perform other related duties as required
