Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years' experience as a CNC machinist.

• Experience in training others in a workforce or classroom/lab setting.

• Willing to teach day or evening classes.

• National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credentials or willingness to obtain.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED:

• Previous experience at a community college or university.

Position Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The PT Machining Instructor will prepare students for a successful career through instruction on: computer applications, computer-aided machining (CAM), blueprint interpretation, advanced computerized numeric control (CNC) equipment, basic and advanced machining operations, precision measurement and highspeed multi-axis machining, and safety practices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: classroom instruction, delivery of project-based learning activities, assessment, examination and grading.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares and updates material/outlines.

• Provides traditional lecture and project-based learning activities.

• Prepares course objectives following industry standards and applicable requirements.

• Plans and documents a program of study that meets the needs and abilities of students.

• Provides instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual, and project-based learning.

• Requires accurate attendance and timely end of course paperwork.
