Required: High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
Qualified candidates must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. and be able to climb steps, ladders and work from elevations. Must be able to work outside year round. Requires endurance to lift, pull, transport and handle equipment and materials.
Other Requirements:
Current valid NC Driver’s License. A physical exam will be required upon receipt of job offer and contingent upon employment.

Position Description
Assists or handles general repairs including building maintenance and repairs of facilities. Performs preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, grounds, and facilities. Keeps maintenance shop area and other work areas clean and neat at all times. Reports any damages, problems or safety issues with facilities or equipment to the Director of Plant and Maintenance Operations. Assists in keeping maintenance, equipment, and repair records regarding completion of work orders. Assists with debris, snow, and ice removal during inclement weather. Assists in maintenance of campus grounds, including mowing, planting, seeding, grading, pruning, cleaning, and similar tasks as required. Individual will also assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed. Other duties to be performed as needed include dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, washing walls and windows. Individual will assist in picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles as needed. Individual must be a team player, dependable, self-motivated and able to perform duties assigned without direct supervision. General maintenance experience with electrical lighting, basic wiring, HVAC, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and other basic building maintenance is a plus.
