High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Skilled technician with at least five years’ journeyman level experience in general building maintenance in multi-building facilities. Must have electric, plumbing, painting and general maintenance problem solving skills. Specialized training required in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, HVAC or electrical maintenance.
Associate degree preferred. HVAC Controls (ie: Johnson Controls, Siemens Controls) training preferred.
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities the Maintenance Technician III position performs a wide variety of miscellaneous mechanical and building trade tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Essential job duties include: performs inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems, operates and assists in maintenance of electrical and pneumatic control systems, lead projects for renovation or repairs, assist Director of Facility Services and/or lead in the Director’s absence, ability to perform general electrical and plumbing duties; ability to provide upkeep of facilities and grounds; landscaping; general maintaining of equipment; and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
