Position Description

Statement of Primary Purpose

In support of the overall Learning college, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator will assist the Director of Marketing and Community Relations with marketing and communications functions of the college, the implementation of the college recruitment, advertising, and marketing plan, and maintain good rapport with faculty, staff, students, and the community.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Perform a variety of kinds of writing including press releases, emails, articles, blog posts for the website, success stories, and social media posts
  2. Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Community Relations to develop content and campaigns for reaching prospective, new and current students, alumni, donors, media, etc.
  3. Enhance awareness of the College and its brand through new and emerging media (digital, online, social), as well as traditional marketing (direct mail, radio, print)
  4. Continually look for innovative, new ways to improve and expand upon the College’s social media, digital and traditional advertising, website, newsletters, success stories, press materials, brochures, email campaigns, fact sheets, and videos that are used in marketing
  5. Work alongside the Director to identify a target market, develop creative materials, and then create and maintain a marketing campaign
  6. Run email campaigns and communications with a variety of different audiences including donors, prospective students, current students, alumni, high school teachers, counselors, parents, local businesses, and internal faculty and staff
  7. Stay on top of weekly and monthly tasks like preparing listing for local media, sending e-newsletters, and emails to targeted groups, and monitoring and posting to social media
  8. Update the College’s communications tools like digital signage, marquee, and website
  9. Support the Director in creating and editing documents and presentations for events large and small
  10. Take notes and action items to keep the team organized and following through on projects
  11. Assist the Director with various day-to-day tasks like taking photos and other tasks
  12. Assist with student outreach
  13. Meet prospective students, donors and other stakeholders on campus and conduct campus tours as necessary
  14. Partner across the College to support all the diverse needs and challenges
  15. Serve on committees relevant to all aspects of college-wide communications
  16. Perform other duties as assigned
