Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; Associate Degree with equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in public relations and social medial marketing
  • Technical skills in graphic design principles and video production
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with strong interpersonal skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented work ethic
  • Ability to work evenings on occasion
  • Fundraising experience preferred

Position Description

  • Prepare press releases, articles, social medial posts, videos and other materials for public consumption
  • Maintain good working relationships with media organizations
  • Collaborate with administrative and advancement teams to ensure a cohesive public image
  • Design advertisements for print and digital platforms
  • Work with teams within the college to organize and host public events and promotions
  • Plan announcements for major news or crises
  • Manage television station content
  • Oversee website content with the help of the Information Technology Department
  • May include both day and evening hours
  • Other duties, as assigned
