Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Operations Management Technology is required. The successful candidate will be asked to provide instruction in several of the following areas of study: Engineering Design, Technical Drafting, Basic and Advanced AutoCAD, 3D Parametric Solid Modeling, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Project and Operations Management, Sustainability, Rapid Prototyping, Machining, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Tool Design, Quality Control, Industrial Safety, Lean Manufacturing, Team Building, Problem Solving, and Supply Chain Management and other related topics. Experience teaching via distance education is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the use of technology. 

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of relevant work experience are preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Position Description

Instructional duties include teaching mechanical engineering and operations management classes, course planning, development, and evaluation. The instructor is responsible for creating and maintaining records regarding student evaluations, recruiting, and advising students. Participation in special events including meetings, orientation, graduation, recruiting activities, college planning processes, and adherence to achieving learning outcomes is required. The instructor must demonstrate a commitment to creating a culture that encourages excellence and professional development in students and employees. Teaching assignments may include on-campus and off-campus classes during the day, evening, weekend, and online. Additional duties include recruiting, advising students, job placement, participation in college/departmental meetings and committees, representation in the local manufacturing communities, and other duties as assigned.
