Associate degree in electronic engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Description

This position will remain open until filled.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Certificate or Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in electronic engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will assist instructors with lab setups and overall classroom management.
 
• Lab set up with preparation of materials and machinery for lab exercises
• Assisting faculty with the preparation and administration of student assignments
• Review student’s hands on work before they can move on to next project
• Assisting in the development and enforcing of safety practices in the instructional laboratories
• Maintaining supplies and equipment for laboratories
• Maintaining inventory in supply cribs, generation of supply order for Lead Instructor
• Help with clean up
• Performing other job specific duties as assigned by the Lead Instructor
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
 
COMPETENCIES:
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers/administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as those needed for the interpretation/creation of graphs, logical equations, and permutations..

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
Surroundings/Environment: Ability to work in a shop environment, usually indoors, including work near moving mechanical parts, likely fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, possibility of extreme temperatures, potential for electric shock, and loud noise.
Physical Effort: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to move for extended periods, maintain stationary positions for an extended period, ascent/descend as needed, and position self to maintain equipment. Must be able to detect environmental abnormalities such as spills or odors. The employee is also required to move about the classroom and frequently communicate with students.
 
SALARY:  
Commensurate with experience.
