Minimum Qualifications
An American Society of Clinical Pathology – Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist with a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. Three years of teaching experience is required. Demonstrate knowledge of educational methods and administration. Have current knowledge of The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accreditation and certification procedures. Dependable and dedicated professional and highly motivated self-starter. Good oral and written communication and proficiency with commonly used computer software are required.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctorate degree is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.
Position Description
Primary responsibilities include class, lab, and clinical instruction of medical laboratory technology students to include teaching a minimum of 15 contact hours per semester. Additional duties include program organization, administration, instruction, evaluation, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, faculty supervision, and evaluation of the program. Maintaining NAACLS accreditation of the program. Other duties include recruiting and advising students, budget preparation, coordinating clinical contracts, serving on committees, and participating in college activities such as professional development opportunities.
