Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree from an accredited university with appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more of the following concentrations: abdominal sonography, cardiac sonography, obstetrics and gynecology sonography, and vascular sonography.
Minimum of two years of full-time clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
Communication, both oral and written, skills necessary. Must have expert efficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited university with appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more of the following concentrations: abdominal sonography, cardiac sonography, obstetrics and gynecology sonography, and vascular sonography.
Minimum of five years of full-time clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. Online teaching experience.
Documented experience in teaching methodology, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and guidance.
Position Description
Teach face-to-face classes to include days, evenings, and weekends both on and off campus.
Teach online classes as needed by the Department.
Incorporate latest instructional technologies in course delivery and utilize interactive learning technologies to engage students in the teaching and learning process.
Advise students who are in the program.
Participate in faculty committees and other activities, as assigned.
Serve as Clinical Coordinator for the program, planning, organizing, and coordinating all clinical education courses.
Must be responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the Department Chair.
Must evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of the clinical affiliate/clinical education centers.
Develop and maintain community relationships that support the mission of the College and the Medical Sonography program.
Participate in student recruitment efforts and advisement to increase enrollment and retention.
Assist in monitoring and improving student retention.
Provide input on accreditation, program review, assessment, and other departmental activities.
Periodically evaluate existing and develop new courses. Revise and update existing courses for relevancy and currency consistent with the role and mission of the College.
Continually develop and improve skills through professional development in education and in Medical Sonography.
Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
